The second Training-of-trainers (ToT) event was hosted by University off Siegen, Germany between 24-28 October 2022.
The consortium partners met to reflect on the learnings gathered from from the Phd supervisor training course in 'Authentic Leadership' organized by University of Tartu, Estonia in October 2021, and Linnæus University, Sweden in May 2022.
Based on the assessment of the feedback from the participants at the PhD supervisor training, IETN external quality auditor, John E. Reilly, and internal discussions following the implementation of the courses, the consortium members developed the generic curriculum and generic programme of the PhD supervisor training in Authentic Leadership. Furthermore, a business plan for the implementation of the PhD supervisor training was developed. An overview of the programme of the ToT event can be found here
Case-based teaching was discussed as a central part of the implementation of the PhD supervisor training. In this regard, workshops were organized at TVD, Siegen and Campus Buschhuetten, where the participants had a chance to learn about integrating industry demands and challenges into academic PhD students’ work.
