The Martti Ahtisaari Institute is organizing a 5 ECTS doctoral course on " in "Legitimation of new organizing forms and new practices: Business modelling" as part of a Marie S. Curie ITN (MSC-ITN) project: Legitimation of Newness and its Impact on EU Agenda for Change (LNETN).
The course is also available to Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) (AKA: PhDs) outside the LNETN Consortium and admits MAX 15 doctoral researchers.
The course aims to acquaint PhD students with business model research and theorizing in management and management-related research. By the end of the course the students will have gained skills and knowledge in (a) trends, state-of-the-art themes, and prospects in the business model research and (b) applying the business model concept and approach in their research and theorizing.
Upon completion of the course, the students will be:
- familiar with different conceptualization and approaches in business model research
- familiar with the key areas of business model research
- understand the trends and directions to which business model research is developing
- able to apply the concept in their own research
- able to evaluate and assess different ways and methods of conducting business model research
The PhD course is delivered using a mixture of lecture-based and interactive teaching methods, including group assignments and feedback to PhD candidates on their identified issues and challenges. Each student is expected to read the pre-readings article package before the course and submit a pre-course written assignment.
