PhD course in legitimation and scenario planning

Course description

This is a 5 ECTS PhD course that is part of the LNETN network-based training programme. This course is available only to LNETN doctoral researchers.

Period: May 5-6 and 10-12, 2021

Venue: The course is hosted by University of Oulu and, due to Covid-19 situation, it will take place on-line via Zoom.

The course aims at introducing the delegates to a set of academic skills, such as, fundamentals of scenario methodology, emergence, foresight, legitimation of newness; and strenghten their knoweldge and skills in theorizing and theory building and defending own voice.

The course will combine a mix of lectures, workshops, group work, individual and group presentations, and feedback sessions. The delegates will complete two assignemnts during the course.
 
The course is developed, implemented and accredited by the Univesity of Oulu. The course coordinator is Prof Petri Ahokangas of Martti Ahtisaari Institute.

This PhD course is part of the LNETN project: Legitimation of Newness and Its Impact on EU Agenda for Change (MSC ITN) that is implemented by a Consortium of four universities:

  • Aalborg University, Denmark (project coordinator)
  • Halmstad University, Sweeden
  • University of Glasgow, Scotland
  • University of Oulu, Finland
